Monoethanolamine (MEA) is a colorless, viscous organic liquid with an ammonia odor. Main uses
  • Gas purification : Absorbing acidic gases (such as CO₂ and H₂S) from natural gas and coal gas.

  • Surfactants : synthetic detergents (shampoos, shower gels), emulsifiers, wetting agents.

  • Chemical intermediates : Production of ethyleneamine series products, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, resins, etc.

  • Metalworking : Used as a rust inhibitor, corrosion inhibitor in cutting fluids, and pH adjuster.

  • Other : Cement grinding aids, cosmetics (pH adjusters), car wash liquid ingredients.
