Physical properties : A colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid, hygroscopic, with an ammonia odor, and miscible with water, ethanol, and acetone.

Chemical properties : It has the characteristics of both amine and hydroxyl groups, is alkaline, can react with acids, and is corrosive to copper and rubber.

Safety : Corrosive; vapors are irritating to skin and eyes. 

Gas purification : Absorbing acidic gases (such as CO₂ and H₂S) from natural gas and coal gas.

Surfactants : synthetic detergents (shampoos, shower gels), emulsifiers, wetting agents.

Chemical intermediates : Production of ethyleneamine series products, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes, resins, etc.

Metalworking : Used as a rust inhibitor, corrosion inhibitor in cutting fluids, and pH adjuster.

Other : Cement grinding aids, cosmetics (pH adjusters), car wash liquid ingredients.
